My version of Martha Stewart's Classic Meatloaf

1 lb. ground beef chuck
1 lb. ground pork
3 slices white bread
1/3 cup whole milk
1 egg
1/2 chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
salt and pepper
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp. vinegar
1-2 drops liquid smoke

Blend bread slices in food processor
Add milk to bread crumbs in a small bowl and set aside (stirring occasionally) for about 10 minutes
Mix tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, chili powder, vinegar, and liquid smoke in small bowl
Mix meat, egg, onion, garlic, bread mixture and 1/2 of sauce and salt and pepper
Line baking sheet with foil and form mixture into a long loaf on the prepared sheet
Spoon on remaining sauce
Bake at 400 for about 45-55 minutes
Let stand 10 minutes before serving
